Product Development - Jewellery
Tateossian has an exciting vacancy for an experienced Jewellery Product Developer to work in their London based Headquarters in SW6.
Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of the industry. They must be familiar with strict and high QC standards, be commercially minded and experienced with turning sketches into pieces of jewellery working across a range of materials from brass to gold. Experience dealing with suppliers in the Far East is a must. Our in house designers will provide you with sketches and your responsibility will be to follow through, identify the suppliers/manufacturers that will provide the product with the highest quality at the best price. Highly focused, detail-orientated and excellent analytical skills are important. You will be also closely involved in working with purchasing working with suppliers to insure timely deliveries. Mandarin knowledge a definite advantage.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Senior Designer and Managing Director, working closely with Design, QC and Purchasing
- Uploading our internal system with updates on prices, codes, descriptions, and all product information that is
- Full ownership of the production life cycle
- Negotiating the best prices with manufacturers/suppliers
- Researching and sourcing suppliers/manufacturers on a global basis
- Product analysis and reporting insights
- Staying up to date with industry trends and evaluating competitors
- Pro-actively working with production/suppliers to solve issues ensuring standards of excellence is always maintained
- Following all compliance
- Dealing with Assay Office
- Sourcing responsibly, ethically and with sustainability in mind.
- Working closely with purchasing to insure timely delivery of orders
Essential Skills and Experience
- 5 years experience within the jewellery sector
- Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills with Far East suppliers
- Data analysis with excellent speed and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of production critical path
- Experience working with an in-house Design and Production Teams
- Experience and awareness in sourcing with a focus on sustainability and meeting global standards as ISO
- A good decision maker who works independently or part of a team
- Commercially focused and delivering to budget and targets
- Advanced MS Excel
- Stays on top of busy workflow, and prioritizes tasks effectively
- Methodical approach and seeing projects through to completion
- Excellent command of written and oral English
- Strong team player who is accustomed to working in a cross-cultural environment
- Tenacious, with a willingness to go beyond the call of duty
